This collborative installation with artists Eliza Tilbrook and Georgina Neal explores food, the grotesque and femininity. The piece comprises distortions of some of our most beloved foods, obscure utensils, bugs and a little bit of sparkle. This joint work combines Neal and Gerrard’s exploration of the female form in their individual practices with Tilbrook’s flare for satire and dark-humour. As a group, they convey a narrative that encapsulates the commodification and consumption of females; the disruption of femininity through the grotesque; the exploration of the female body through food; and the stigma of gluttony as it relates to the female form.
